Pennine House (The Lofts)

Little Germany, Bradford

Pennine House, also known as The Lofts is a prominent grade 2 listed building sitting on the edge of the Little Germany conservation area in Bradford, a location ranked as one of the best in Britain for property yields. Built in 1864, it was originally used as a wool warehouse and has seen various usages during its history including being home to Pennine Radio.

Having sat vacant for a number of years, planning was granted to bring the building back into life with a change of usage to over 100 luxury apartments.

Empace were commissioned by the developers to provide structural engineering services to the project. Some of the work involved carry out remediation to part of the historic timber roof trusses, as well as creating new openings in floors and walls to allow for the creation of architectural layout.
